I was born in Rome on January 14, 1968 and I grew up in the historic neighborhood of Trastevere. While living in Rome, I worked for the Comune di Roma and I also managed various clothing stores. Throughout my life, the one thing that has been a constant defining factor for me is and will always continue to be, MUSIC. I moved to Canada in 2004 and I soon started listening to CHIN Radio, which has really made me feel like I am at home. By listening to CHIN, I also discovered that there are many Canadians who share my passion of music and soccer (of course!). In 2006, I won the CHIN Top Ten @ 2 Host Search Contest and began hosting the “Sunday FM Program” from 2-5 pm. I am also the host of the weekday drive home show “Massimo Ascolto” from 2-6pm Monday to Friday, as well as the “Italian Graffiti” program on Sundays from 9-11am. In addition to hosting these radio programs, I enjoy participating in the weekly television show “Festival Italiano di Johnny Lombardi” every Sunday from 11:30am to 2pm, wherein you will find my Artist Profile of the Week, the CHIN Radio Top Ten, as well as many other surprises. As a CHIN radio personality, I have participated in countless CHIN events such as the CHIN Picnic, Fiera (Organetto and Tarantella Competitions), Taranta Dance Festival, CHIN Winter Picnic, Johnny Lombardi Song Festival, Casino Rama concerts, and the list goes on and on … CHIN has given me the opportunity to interview many great Italian artists such as Laura Pausini, Jovanotti, Ligabue, Giuliano Sangiorgi, Antonello Venditti, Umberto Tozzi, and many more. I also work as an Italian-speaking announcer and master of ceremonies for various functions such as weddings and feste, and over the years I have had the pleasure of emceeing a variety of charitable and community events. I truly feel that it is important to keep the Italian language and culture alive for future generations and I am happy to say that CHIN continues to do so! Having the privilege of being part of the CHIN family is truly like a dream come true for me. And so I ask you, “Please don’t wake me up!!!” Ciao, da Massimo.
