This Turin-born artist first hit the music scene when he was 16-years-old with the group, “Off Sound,” a young rock group that played in his hometown, Torino. After an encounter with Adrian Pappalardo, Umberto found himself on an Italian tour and a newly formed 13-piece band. In his early twenties, he celebrated his first success as a songwriter with, “Un Corpo, Un’Anima.” His world wide hit, Ti Amo, held the first position on the Italian charts for seven consecutive months, beating every other record at the time. The memorable love song went on to become an international success that is still dear to many hearts and can be heard on the radio til this very day.

Rione Junno revives old traditions through their energy and sound. Since 2002, Rione Junno embodies the sounds of an Italian musical tradition derived from the Gargano town’s style. The video for their first single, entitled “Figlia Figlia,” is filmed against the Gargano city backdrop in December 2008. The 6-piece band followed in the footsteps of Eugenio Bennato and his “Taranta-power” movement. Their music greatly reflects a history, which is deeply rooted in the southern parts of Italy. With a strong focus on the music, songs, dance, and instruments of tradition, Rione Junno serves up a unique mix of folklore, alternative, and contemporary melodies that is both exciting and entertaining for all generations.

In addition to singing, Giada is active in theatre as well. She performs her own shows regularly in New York City (also in other states and in Europe) such as, La Dolce Vita Swings and Moonlight & Romance. Most recently, she commenced a Broadway show, “Una Notte in Italia,” which highlights beautiful Italian and American love songs.

India’s Jaswinder Singh Bains is a returning favourite at the CHIN International Picnic. Jazzy B, as he is more famously known as, was born April 1^st, 1975 in Punjab, India. At the age of 4, his family decided to relocate to Vancouver, Canada. Since his 1993 debut album, “Gugian da Jorra,” Jazzy has been toping the charts and is one of the most important names in the Punjabi music world. This extremely talented Punjabi Bhangra singer/songwriter has released 17 studio albums and has also colloborated on many songs.

With smash hits like “Dil Aah Gey Ya Tere Te,” “Londono Patola,” “Husna di Sarkar” and most recently, the ground breaking anthem that is “Naag,” Jazzy B has made it obvious he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon!
